Hello. You've reached the mobile of Irene Adler. I'm not here right now, or I'm with a client; please leave a message and I'll try and get back to you as quickly as possible.
( damn, if she wasn't playing a game right now she would have switched to voice immediately - but that would only make apparent her distress and raise uncomfortable questions, such as "why do you care?". )
[Someone more given to philosophizing would wonder whether an imaginary bullet that still causes injury can actually count as a bullet. Sherlock doesn't have time for that sort of mental gymnastics.
( and that is as much as she is willing to offer on the matter. her hallucinations did not bear repeating; they were personal and hers alone to keep. she would like that much to be private, given that her earlier visions had not been. )
Afghanistan, or a facsimile. He ran for cover, I went to see what was happening. When he reached for me, we were both there. In an instant.
He was shot. Pulse gone – [An odd beat there, like he was going to add something else, but elected not to.] – a few hours later, after the hallucination faded, there he was. As well as if nothing had occurred.
I'm satisfied believing he's physically all right because he said as much. If you're concerned with his mental well-being, you can always ask him yourself.

( it just got worse, then. )
Do you believe another traveller killed him?

But she does still need to understand.]
Did you experience any hallucinations yourself?

That was what killed him?

Didn't have to give me any details. I was there.

Has he spoken to you about it since then?
no subject
About dying?
no subject
Yes.

And? What did he have to say?
no subject
He said that it was his first time, that nothing had changed, and the natives treated him well after he was revived.
Also that things can change for people who've gone through the process. Although normally not the first time.
ok, maybe i'm not ready to let go of this tag yet.
Do you believe him?
sob
double sob
( her voice is pleasant enough, as though she was just pointing out the weather. inwardly, she wondered that any man so smart could be so thick. )

( sarcasm, obviously. )
He lives with you. You are much better equipped than I am to worry about his mental wellbeing.
